County Prep students selected to the Jersey Journal All-County Girls Tennis Team

The Jersey Journal has made their selections for the top high school girls tennis players of the 2008 season. Principal Barbara Mendolla is proud to announce that several County Prep High School students have been chosen as members of the Jersey Journal All-County Girls Tennis Team.

Junior sensation Angelica Dabu has been labeled a lethal No. 1 singles player who possesses all-court skills and dictates match play with power and finesse. She has been hailed as Queen of the Court and holds the distinction of being the best singles position player in the Seglio Division. Angelica repeated as the A-Flight singles champion. She has accumulated a 20-1 overall record and is a New Jersey Top 5 prospect. Dabu is ranked 131st in the country and 14th in the Mid-Atlantic region. According to tennisrecruiting.net she is already being wooed by several colleges.

Agnes Bangayan also earned recognition as one of the best positional competitors in the area. Agnes , a junior and pure power player is County Prep’s No. 2 singles flight player who has compiled a 12-3 overall record.

Freshman sensation, Stephanie Malabag may be County Prep’s future ace. She is the No. 3 singles flight player and holds a first year overall record of 18-2. Stephanie is described as having it all – power, finesse and strength.

County Second Team overall named doubles partners Jessica (Jaime) DeLeon and Harita Patel.  Honorable Mention was given to Seidron Snipe and Jazsha Bolante .

Ms. Mendolla congratulates these talented young women on their outstanding accomplishments and would like to acknowledge Coach Gunther Pelipada and Assistant Coach Eugene Wallace for their dedication and leadership.
