County Prep Students Compete in Photography Skills Contest
(Jersey City - February 2, 2008) County Prep sent three students to the Ocean County Technical Vocational School Commercial Photography contest this year. This year's SkillsUSA winter contest was held at Ocean County Technical Vocational School in Brick Township, NJ on Saturday, February 2nd. Junior Cerille Avetria, along with Sseniors Michael Caroselli and Erik Bradley represented County Prep High School in this contest.
Students submitted their portfolios along with two separate prints for judging. They also had to shoot product, portrait and landscape photos to showcase their talents, and they finished with a written test.
This year, County Prep was able to send more students than usual because a rule change allowed up to four secondary/post-secondary students per school in the Commercial Photography contest.
According to Ocean County officials, with 24 students competing, this was the largest turnout for Commercial photography. The results will be announced at the May competition and awards ceremony.
Ms. Mendolla wishes the students well in the competition.
