County Prep Alumni To Attend Presidential Inauguration

(Jersey City - February 19, 2008) . County Prep alumni Maranda Jones, class of 2007 has been selected to attend the 56th Inauguration of the President of the United States as an Inaugural Scholar by the University Presidential Inaugural Conference (UPIC).

Inaugural Scholars must be alumni of the National Youth Leadership Forum, the Congressional Youth Leadership Council or the International Scholar Laureate Program or a member of select honors societies, and they must be enrolled in a post-secondary program at the time they attend the University Presidential Inaugural Conference, according to the UPIC website.

As an Inaugural Scholar, Ms. Jones will attend five days of commemorative events and activities held in honor of the President and Vice President, and will have the opportunity to meet White House officials, congressional staff, and other leaders and decision makers. The event will culminate on the morning of January 20th, 2009 on the National Mall was the President of the United States of America is sworn into office.
