(Lincoln Park - Jersey City, NJ - May 29, 2009) County Prep’s baseball team defeated Lyndhurst High School 8-7 in the North II Group I State Sectional Title game capturing their first state sectional title. Senior Wendell Rodriguez earned the win on the pitcher's mound, junior Jorge Alejandro came on in relief for the save. Junior Reyvis Rivas was two for four with three RBI’s, while Rodriguez and senior Johan Farias delivered at the plate with two RBI’s each. Rivas also contributed on defense by throwing out three runners including the final out of the game. The win was a total team effort that the boys should be proud of, stated Coach Mike Zadroga. The team finished the season with an outstanding record of 21-4.
