Explore 2000
Explore 2000 is a middle school program designed to educate the scientific and technical leaders of tomorrow in an environment focused on the future.
Explore 2000 serves selected middle school students through a creative partnership among local school districts and the Hudson County Schools of Technology. Explore 2000 believes in an education constructed around the particular strengths of each individual and taught in a high-quality, educationally stimulating environment.
This middle school program is a model setting for learning that is consistent with the N.J. Core Curriculum Content Standards, using hands-on, student-centered activities and learning based on real-life content.
Explore 2000 investigates, in depth, a total of nine thematic units over a three-year period: Outer Space - The Ultimate Frontier; The Human Body-The Living Organs; The Living Oceans; Environmental Threats; The 20th Century; Amazing Animals; Freedom Fighters; Ancient Civilizations; and Natural Wonders of New Jersey. This program relies on alternative assessment activities, including portfolio assessments and student/parent conferences with our instructors.
