HIGH TECH HOOPSTERS MAKE 2007 HCIAA ALL-SEGLIO BASKETBALL TEAMS

(Jersey City—March 15, 2007) Carrying on their mid-March tradition, HCIAA Seglio coaches have announced the 2007 HCIAA All-Seglio Basketball Teams, selecting two boys and five girls from High Tech High School, announced Principal Karol Brancato.
The coaches named two players from High Tech coach Steve Ricciardi’s team. Mike Fonseca and John Greenwald, both Union City residents and students in the AACT program at Hudson County Schools of Technology, have been named Co-Rookie of the Year and one of players on the All-Defensive Team, respectively, for the HCIAA All-Seglio Boys Basketball Team.
High Tech Girls Basketball, coached by Jose “Bumper” Gonzalez, fared even better in the selection process. The coaches named guard/forward Ashley Silberman of Jersey City the Rookie of the Year. Forward/center Erika Thompson of Harrison and guard/forward Chelsea Nkwodimmah of Bayonne both made First Team. Last but not least, guards Monique Colon of Hoboken and Justine Mateo of Jersey City made the Second Team and All-Defensive Team, respectively.
