(Jersey City, NJ— February 14, 2007) “Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet and so are you! " Valentine’s Day is a time for people all around the world to show their love for their friends, families, co-workers, and everyone else around them.  At County Prep, under the supervision of the school's National Honor Society (NHS) moderator, Ms. Anne Gerhardi, the student members of the NHS played an enormous role in bringing love and friendship to the faculty and students of County Prep.

During the last week of January through to February 9, senior NHS members Dualia Shendi, Khrystyne Avetria, Monica DeLeon, Lily Ko, Zareen Mobin, Hao Chen, Javita Raghubir, and Christian Smith, sold red, white, and blue carnations with messages to the faculty and students. A total of three hundred dollars was raised from this fundraiser. The members of the National Honor Society decided to spend half of the profit on Dr. Seuss books for the John M. Bailey School .

The National Honor Society would like to thank the entire faculty and student body who purchased the carnations. Ms. Mendolla congratulates the students for their success, and applauds them for contributing to the community
