(Trenton—March 10, 2007) The NJ Theatre Alliance has selected High Tech’s Monica Mina, a resident of Union City, to read her poetry at the Crossroads Theatre in New Brunswick, part of Family Week at the Theatre, announced Principal Karol Brancato.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Poetry Workshop and “Step up to the Mic” Poetry Jam at the Crossroads Theatre, scheduled for March 10th, have been cancelled. While the news disappoints Monica Mina, she can still take pride in her selection. A sample of her freestyle poetry serves as a testament to her artistry:
Underneath my soul is anger and pain
Behind my eyes are a million tears just waiting
To burst out
But I don’t know they don’t, they somehow
Just fade out
Strength and courage just drown my heart and soul
Family Week at the Theatre, an annual statewide festival, introduces the best of the Garden State's professional theatres to young people and family audiences. This program provides a unique opportunity for youngsters to experience the magic of live theatre with their parents and family. It provides free tickets to children for an entire week during March, with many of the over 120 events free of charge. The Tenth Annual Family Week at the Theatre has been scheduled for March 3-11, 2007. |
