Career Academy sponsored and hosted Future Fair 2007 on Monday, March 1, 2007 with sixty-three presenters in attendance. The event…the fourth in as many years, which was open to all students of HCST, provided information on two and four year colleges and universities, trade schools, military branches, law enforcement and fire fighters, and area businesses. There was something of interest for everyone. Within HCST’s Jersey City Campus, students met with the presenters and discussed their programs and picked up literature and enrollment applications. Schools in attendance came from New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania with many offering courses that tie into the vocational academies presently operating at HCST and its Career Academy. This event will be followed, this Spring, by a Financial Aid Workshop for students and their families. Mr. John Holoduek, Principal of Career Academy, has initiated these presentations related to post-graduation paths as tools to assist the students with achieving their goals of continuing on the road to success after completing their studies at Career Academy. The event…which was a huge success…was coordinated by, Career Academy Educational Advisor Gerald Lyons. Assistance was also provided by Susan Contey, from our School-to-Careers Department…Mr. Mohammad Smadi and Ms. Christina Ampudia, from the Development Office, Ms. Yvette Thomas, Executive Secretary, and many able Career Academy student interns.
