(Atlanta, GA/Concord, NH—April 15, 2007) In two separate occurrences, the highly popular High Tech science teacher Dr. Nina Lavlinskaia has been proclaimed a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Society of High School Scholars as well as a recipient of this year’s Teacher Award, presented by the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, announced Principal Karol Brancato.
As a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction, Dr. Lavlinskaia has been invited by the National Society of High School Scholars to attend its recognition program, which honors students, teachers, and advisory board members. This prestigious event will be held in the Russell Senate Building Caucus Room, at the northeast of the U.S. Capitol building, on Friday, June 1st, at noon. Advisory Board Chair Claes Nobel of the distinguished family that established the world-famous prizes in its name will attend this prestigious event and speak as well.
Furthermore, the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) has proclaimed Dr. Lavlinskaia a recipient of its Teacher Award in recognition of her educational excellence in the sciences. The U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force sponsor this special award, which the Academy of Applied Science administers.
No stranger to professional accolades, Dr. Lavlinskaia has been the recipient of various distinguished honors and awards, like the Siemens Award for Advanced Placement Science Courses. She has authored and co-authored articles published in national scientific journals. Also, Dr. Lavlinskaia has trained many highly successful High Tech graduates who have earned distinctive wins at many competitions, including the prestigious International Science Fair. She received her education in Russia, having graduated from Voronej State University where she specialized in Biophysics. After moving to Moscow to undertake graduate study, Dr. Lavlinskaia received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry, studying nitrogen metabolism. |
