(Wayne, NJ—May 22, 2008) High Tech’s Alex Alonso of North Bergen and Jersey City resident Malcolm McMichael won First Place for reciting a poem in Japanese at the William Paterson University Department of Languages and Cultures’ 25th Annual Foreign Language Poetry Recitation Contest, announced Principal Karol Brancato.
Along with Alonso and McMichael, Kearny resident Angela Frasca and Ruby Hankey of Jersey City earned Honorable Mentions in Spanish and French, respectively.
Students had the opportunity to recite poetry that William Paterson provided in French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin and Spanish, in Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Native (except for Japanese and Latin) Levels. |
