(Jersey City -  June 1, 2008) County Prep class of 2004 alumni, Tiffany Taverez, was recognized for her  acheiviements since graduation at the 2008 Successful Graduate Recognition Awards Program. The program was hosted by the New Jersey Council of County Vocational-Technical Schools at the Forsgate Country Club, in Monroe, NJ on April 10, 2008

Ms. Taverez was the first student to earn a full-tuition scholarship to Temple University's Tyler School of Art. As a student at Temple, she worked full time while majoring in printmaking. Tiffany also participated in an education apprenticeship at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Museum, and received a graduate assistantship to complete the Master of Arts in Museum Studies Program, with a focus on education, at the University of the Arts. Tiffany is currenlty assistant director of alunmi affairs for the College of Education at Temple University, where she fundraises for the university, manages marketing and communications, organizes all college events and facilitates volunteer functions with Philadelphia for current students and young alunmi. She is a voluneer for the Woman's Way Foundation, mentor for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and was recently inducted into the Tyler  Alumni Association Board. Her work was recently published by ithe Oakland Ca. based ndependent arts publication, Tea Party Magazine.

Ms. Tavarez still lives in Philadelphia, but she has maintained strong ties to County Prep over the years. As an extern, she acted as Assistant Teacher to her mentor and former high school teacher, Ms. Charlene Kahse, and she continues to donate work to the schools fundraisers, in acknowledgement of the impact  that County Prep has had on her life.
