High Tech’s Own Dave Richards and Blue Stragglers to Play Free Concert in Black Box Theatre

(North Bergen—June 9, 2008) On Wednesday, June 18th, Coffee House Live Presents Blue Stragglers, a band dedicated to the blues and jazz, as well as pop and funk sounds, announced Principal Karol Brancato.
 
Blue Stragglers features High Tech High School’s Dave Richards, WHIT radio consultant, on trumpet; George “Dusty” Chen on guitar; Greg Minahan on lead vocal; Marty Paglione on drums; Fred Van Keuren on piano; Dave Warner on saxophone; and bassist Ken Niell, the original bass player for the popular heavy metal band Twisted Sister. 
 
The band will perform in Hudson County Schools of Technology’s North Hudson Center, in the school’s Black Box Theatre, at 1:00 p.m. A live Webcast will be presented by High Tech’s own WHIT Radio. To tune in, visit www.whitradio.org.
 
The “blue straggler” name refers to “one of a small group of blue stars within a cluster that falls near the main sequence even though other stars of its color have evolved off the main sequence,” according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.
