This summer, High Tech Performing Arts Chair Scott Killian, a resident of North Bergen and a professional composer in his own right, will be scoring original music and undertaking sound design for three productions at the prestigious Berkshire Theatre Festival, announced Principal Karol Brancato.

Killian will compose music for Robert Bolt's "A Man for All Seasons," Samuel Beckett's absurdist classic "Waiting for Godot," and George Bernard Shaw's "Candida."  In addition, Killian will provide original music for the Minnesota repertory theatre troupe Shakespeare & Company's Othello as well as preparing the music for last year's critically-acclaimed production of Hamlet for a national tour.

Recently, the Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance and Jessie Richardson Theatre Award Society nominated Killian for the Jessie Award (a.k.a., the "Canadian Tony") in Sound Design for his work on "The Wars," adapted for the stage by Dennis Garnhum and based on Timothy Findley's 1977 novel.  "The Wars" premiered at Theatre Calgary and the Vancouver Playhouse in September 2007.

Killian has also composed scores for contemporary dance works which premiered in Manhattan at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, Danspace project, and at Symphony Space.  Upcoming performances featuring his dance scores will be scheduled for this summer as well, namely at Jacob's Pillow in Becket, Massachusetts, and in Linz, Germany, and St. Petersburg.
