Attention all instructional staff: 

Your PIP should be complete for the 2007/2008 school year.  Please be sure to attach copies of relevant certificates, transcripts, etc. to support your documentation.    

In the Fall, you should begin the process for developing your 2008/2009 PIP document.  Click here for a copy of the PIP.  

 

Review "What Counts"  under Section 3 from the Department of Education to guide you when identifying acceptable professional development activities.  Experiences include, but are not limited to:  

  • Action research
  • Novice teacher mentoring
  • Committee participation
  • Traditional and online college courses

Tuition Reimbursement:

 

Effective July 1, 2007 the tuition reimbursement for instructional staff will be as follows:   A maximum of 20 teachers will be eligible for reimbursement up to $2500 per year.  You can use the attached "Sample Letter" as a guide when requesting tuition reimbursement.  Be sure to attach your bill/proof of payment to your request and forward official trancripts upon completion of the course.

 

Professional Days - Field Trip Requests Form 9250 

The new Form 9250 must be completed by individuals requesting either a Professional Day or Field Trip.  Following completion of the approved day(s) the required synopsis must be completed. (See Below)

  

Travel Synopsis:

 

In accordance with the district travel policy, the attached Professional Day Synopsis is to be used to report activities/attendance for all  professional days, regardless of whether there are any costs associated with the professional day(s).    This information must be submitted to the office of the superintendent within fifteen (15) days after completed travel/attendance.  (This replaces the required synopsis report - after you complete the form, you can save a copy to your computer) If you have additional questions about the travel policy/reimbursement you can contact Beatriz Amaro in central office at bamaro@hcstonline.org
