The goal of the Knowledge & Advanced Skills PREP Program {KAS Prep Program} is to provide educational and support services to non-traditional secondary school students in Hudson County. These students will be referred from their traditional high school setting and placed in a more "flexible" environment at Hudson County Schools of Technology's North Hudson Center.

 

The KAS Prep Program will provide all participating students with a basic skills and core curriculum developed by our staff in cooperation with their sending school. The curriculum will be designed to fulfill the high-school graduation requirements. In addition, students will be provided with vocational, technical and occupational competency training, or advanced college level courses either by audit or credit basis at this center.

 

The KAS Prep Program will offer a variety of support services which will be tailored to each student's circumstances; such services will include but not be limited to violence prevention, substance abuse prevention, and family counseling and will be provided either by our Guidance Counselor, School Social Worker, Substance Awareness Coordinator, School Psychologist or by referral to other appropriate county agencies.

 

The overall aim of our program is to provide every student the opportunity to graduate from high school and to become a productive member of society.
