This procedure allows you to enter comments for Progress Reports and Report Cards.
1. Launch Gradebook.
2. Proceed to the Scoresheet Page.
3. From your class list on the left side of the screen, select a class that meets in the quarter you are planning to enter comments for. Please be sure that the term under Classes (Arrow 1) and the Reporting Term (Arrow 2) both have the same quarter.
4. Double click on the Final Grade area of the first student (even if there is no Final Grade). The Score Inspector will open.
1. Click on Comment Bank, select your comments, click on “Insert Selected Comments”, and click on OK. DO NOT CHECK THE MANUAL OVERRIDE BOX. NOTE: It is recommended that the “Separate Comments Using” box be set to “Line Breaks” for readability.
2. Once you have entered your comments, use the down arrow at the top of Score Inspector to move to the next student. Comments are saved automatically. When you finished with one class, choose another and repeat the process.
Reminder: Electronic grade books are considered legal documents and you are responsible for all comments you enter. Comments you enter will remain in the Gradebook until you remove or edit them. They will not be removed by the Technology Department. Periodically, you should review your comments and make changes as the situation warrants. This will be exceedingly important when at some time in the future, the Parent/Student portal is opened and grades and comments become available immediately.
