Eleven High Tech Students Inducted into Japanese National Honor Society for 2015

(North Bergen, NJ—June 4, 2015) This year, the Japanese National Honor Society (JNHS) recognizes eleven High Tech students for their hard work and achievement in Japanese study, announced Dr. Joseph Giammarella, Principal of High Tech High School.
The following students have been inducted into JNHS as of May 11th: Joseph Saylor of Bayonne; Harrison resident Anthony Chae; Cara Rosner of Hoboken; Jersey City residents Kate Coronado, Michelle DePacina, and Alexander Le; Alison Tu, Emmanuel Uribe, and Cindy Wong of North Bergen; Secaucus resident Fujia Ren; and Emily Fung of Union City.
JNHS unites teachers and administrators in developing and maintaining high standards of Japanese language education.  It promotes altruistic conduct through language and cultural activities.  In order to qualify for JNHS, students must maintain at least a B+ average in Japanese and a B average in their other classes.

“I’m proud to see my students awarded for their hard work and diligent study,” says Akemi Dobkin, veteran teacher of Japanese Language and Culture.  “The Japanese language isn’t easy for native English speakers, but, just within two years, my students have grown to understand more.”
