High Tech Dance Department continues its 2018-2019 season with their annual Spring Dance Showcase, Novum: A new beginning.
Directed by Trista DeFilippis, Novum stars dance majors who will present their own choreography which is the culmination of year long projects. These dancers create their own works, choose their own music scores, light and costume their own pieces.
In addition to those works, there are also two commissioned works by guest artists. Choreographer and dancer, Stephen Galberth, set Internal Dialogue on eleven dance majors. Stephen is a graduate of Montclair State University and currently runs his own company which presents work all over the tri-state area.
The second featured guest artist is High Tech dance alumnus, Sarah Botero, who is currently completing her senior year at SUNY Purchase. She set her senior project, Alegria, on seven High Tech dancers which will prove to be a show stopper.
NOVUM will mark the first official dance production to be staged in the newly opened Main Stage Theater on the campus of High Tech High School.
Performances are scheduled for April 11-13, 2019 at 7pm with an added student matinee on Friday, April 12th at 3pm in the Main Stage Theater at High Tech High School, One High Tech Way, Secaucus, NJ 07097.
