(Millburn, NJ--June 5, 2019) Hoboken resident Sara Bartoszek received the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Award for Best Featured Actress for her portrayal of the Mistress in High Tech High School Musical Theatre’s production of Evita, announced Dr. Joseph Giammarella, Principal of High Tech.
A junior majoring in Musical Theatre, Bartoszek had been nominated with a quartet of other actresses in her category.
The Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards recognize excellence in Musical Theatre throughout New Jersey. One hundred secondary schools throughout the Garden State compete in categories akin to those honored at the Tony Awards, which spotlight the best of Broadway. Rising Star categories honor performances, design, and technical areas in Muscial Theatre.
Trista DeFilippis, Director of the High Tech Dance Department, received a nomination for Best Choreography as well.
