The Federal Carl D. Perkins Act of 2006

This act provides funding for secondary and post-secondary career and technical education programs. This act focuses on accountability measures, with a heavy emphasis on academic rigor.

"The purpose of this Act is to develop challenging academic and technical standards and related challenging, integrated instruction. State plans must be aligned with content and student achievement standards consistent with No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation."
