Academy Highlights

Structured Learning Experiences

Students engage in hands-on activities and participate in field experiences, utilizing the rich resources of the metropolitan community. Many opportunities are available for internships and supplementary academic programs in architecture and design areas.

Thematic Projects

Each project is a product and a process: It demonstrates understanding of a skill and illustrates knowledge of a concept. Projects reflect the diversity of our learning community. Facilitators will guide student-centered projects while students dictate a project’s deliverables according to their interests and capabilities. This approach to learning prepares our students for the best colleges and careers beyond.

Integrated Instruction

Content Specialists plan collaboratively to create standards-aligned, interdisciplinary projects and other academic assignments. From these plans come high-quality, academically rigorous project documents and artifacts that demonstrate the AACT student’s ability to work on the collegiate level in the 21st Century.

Community of Creative Thinkers

AACT’s small size lends itself to a positive and personalized learning environment. Through academic projects and in-depth seminars the students and facilitators act as critical thinkers. Our learning community fosters creative expression of thought, curiosity about the world, and intellectual risk-taking.
