Science Lab Technology - Option PB (10 credits)
Science Lab Technology Option PB is a course intended to prepare those who wish to pursue careers in: medicine, engineering, mathematics, chemistry, or science in general. Option PB stresses: applications, methodology, techniques, and theories fundamental to continuing studies in science. This college level course requires solid algebraic skills and a basis in trigonometry as fundamental problem solving tools. Topics covered include: mechanics, energy, wave theory, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, optics, quantum theory, and nuclear physics. Students learn laboratory practice and procedures in Physics as well as use of a computer-based data collection/analysis tools. Topics covered will successfully prepare students to complete all requirements and sit for College Board’s advanced Placement Physics Examination B.
Prerequisite: Physics I, Algebra II and familiarity with Trigonometry

Science Lab Technology Option PC is a course intended to prepare those who wish to pursue careers in: engineering, mathematics, chemistry, or science specifically. Option PC stresses: applications, methodology, techniques, and theories fundamental to continuing studies in science. This college level course requires advanced algebraic and trigonometric skills and Calculus as problem solving tools. Topics covered include: mechanics and electricity and magnetism. Students learn laboratory practice and procedures in Physics as well as use of computer-based data collection/analysis tools. Topics covered will successfully prepare students to complete all requirements and sit for the College Board’s Advanced Placement Physics Examination C.
Prerequisite: Science Lab Technology - Option PB and Calculus
