Website Development I (10 credits)
Web Site Development is an introductory course that will expose students to the Internet, specifically the World Wide Web. The focus of the course will be general web site design. The teacher will introduce the students to the necessary skills needed to plan and implement a web site. Instruction will be provided so that the student will attain the needed technical skills that are required to work with web sites. Through theory and hands-on lab sessions, the student will become familiar with the standards and conventions used in proper web site development. This will include exposure to specialized industry tools and software.
Website Development II (10 credits)
Web Site Management is an advanced course that will provide students with the opportunity to practice and hone their web development skills. Students will independently maintain and expand the High Tech High School Web Site. The experience gained will allow them to become exceedingly proficient web site designers and managers. The teacher’s role will mainly consist of “facilitator”, creating an environment conductive to guided exploration. However, hands-on training will be provided to each student so as to learn new advanced techniques at his or her own pace. This will include exposure to specialized industry tools and software.
