Three exceptional students, Marielys Gomez, Jadalee Gonzalez and Brianna Porter were approved to participate in an externship with the Early Childhood Education Center, Starting Points of Hudson County. This Work-Based Learning experience is a valuable supplement to their Early Childhood Education program of study at the Earl W. Byrd Center. Every day after school they have the opportunity to work in preschool classroom settings and assist their designated Lead Teachers with scheduled class activities.
This externship, in addition to their academic program of study, will give Marielys, Jadalee and Brianna the hands- on experience they need to excel in their early childhood education careers. HCST is committed to incorporating real world training into every facet of students’ educational experience, so that everyone graduating will be fully prepared to go on to college or get a job in their field of choice!
